Sulden/Prad/Trafoi/Gomagoi/Stilfs/Stilfserjoch
Sulden/Solda lies high up in the mountains but it has its compensations. Tired legs from active days are quickly forgotten in the cool of the evening. Crystal-clear air is balsam for both body and soul.
300 days of sun and beautiful views of the Alps. South Tyrolean tradition and hospitality will spoil you. A delight for the palate: from the delicious local foods of the mountain dairy huts and refuges to the local gourmet cuisine.
Prad/Prato allo Stelvio is a magical holiday resort that lies in the heart of the famous Stelvio National Park, on the doorstep of the Ortles region. With its 3100 strong population, this community has a climactically ideal location in the middle of rolling meadowlands. It is ringed by a massive mountain backdrop and woods. With its large and small historical symbols and its trappings of modern tourism, Prad is a miniature paradise, a melting pot of nature, culture and progress.
Trafoi never fails to fascinate with its naturalness. In winter, this is one of the most beautiful of all ski resorts – provided you are looking for natural beauty and scenery rather than a large and frenetic skiing merry-go-round. Trafoi is especially popular with families. Moreover, the Stelvio Pass, the highest Alpine crossing point, is an absolute must for cyclists and motor cyclists. Skiers and ramblers will also find that the entire area around Trafoi, the Stelvio ridge and the Ortler is extensive and fully developed.
Gomagoi can offer a wide choice of extended nature walks, a range of tracks and paths for cycling, relaxation, fishing in the nearby pool, visits to the wild game park or simply enjoying the fresh mountain air. In winter, the well-known ski resorts of Trafoi and Sulden are easily accessible. The world famous Stelvio Pass Road is guaranteed to test cyclists and bikers to the utmost.
Skiing in the summertime can be fun and with 30 kilometres of circuits from the Stelvio glacier you will find a wide range of options, ranging from the moderately difficult to the easy. 10 runs and lifts, 2 cable lifts, 8 Halfpipe drag lifts on the slopes of the Geisterspitze for competitions and 3 different cross-country circuits – one directly on the pass and two in the middle of the glacier skiing area – with a total length of 12 km. One of these is a very demanding high level cross-country glacier circuit at the foot of Monte Cristallo at a height of about 3,400 m.
