The incredible beauty of this castle, which has never been conquered, even today still makes quite an impression. Another amazing work is the cycle of frescoes in the castle tavern. Painted at the beginning of the 13th century and rediscovered only in 1972, the frescoes are inspired by the saga of Ivanhoe.
Rodeneck is situated on a gentle slope in a beautifully sunny location, with large farms and hotels run with exacting care, plus the church isolated between the town and the castle. Last but not least there is all the splendour of nature, from the meadows to the forests rising up to more than 1800 m in the Rodeneck Alps.
You can stroll, climb up one of the gentle mountains in the area and admire the magnificence of the Dolomites. You can enter an Alpine pasture and while away the hours in peace and quiet before returning to Rodeneck - your vacation spot. In the winter, the Rodeneck Alps become the ideal spot for cross-country skiing, thanks to its sunny location and unmatched beauty.
