Klausen

In 1494, the artist Albrecht Dürer had already fallen in love with the town of Klausen/Chiusa, immortalising his impressions in the engraving "Das große Glück".

From then on, Klausen's charm has attracted numerous artists and poets, who have painted and sung its praises. The picturesque town extends between the cloister Kloster Säben and the river Eisack, with its beautiful coloured façades rising next to each other and dominated by Gothic churches. Here, hotels steeped in tradition have been welcoming famous guests for centuries.

The legendary treasure of Loreto has been found in the ancient convent of the Capuchins, and yous shouldn't miss the art gallery and the modern museum gallery as well.

The charming countryside entices visitors to take hikes and discover the natural wonders. Old roads run past castle Branzoll and continue to Kloster Säben.
