Four seasons from north to south

Named after its river, the valley Eisacktal changes appearance spectacularly in just 90 kilometres: wild and romantic in the north, towered over by some of the highest peaks in the Alps, on to the medieval trading town of Sterzing, then the old bishop’s seat of Brixen, followed by Klausen. Here picturesque farmsteads and farmhouse restaurants adorn the mountainsides, surrounded by vines and sturdy chestnut trees. White wines from the Eisacktal are among Europe’s finest.
