At a height of 850 m the sunny slopes of the valley Eisacktal tempt you to take peaceful strolls and make relaxing stopovers. All in a sundrenched oasis, covered with criss-crossing bike and hiking paths and beautiful vineyards. When chestnuts have ripened, celebrations are held in characteristic taverns with lots of new wine and fun times.

The heart of the village is very old and boasts magnificent guesthouses, neat farmhouses, impressive residences and also a Gothic church and a Renaissance castle dating from 1577 and surrounded by battlements.
This, the former summer residence of the prince bishops of Brixen, is now where ancient rural tradition and modern village culture meet in the form of concerts and open-air plays which are always unique.
