to 5th June 2011 in Bolzano/Bozen’s historical centre focusing on local culi-

Bolzano/Bozen Wine Exhibition "Bozner Weinkost"
02th to 5th June 2011
The event took place for the first time in 1896 as a “wine market” to pro-
vide producers and prospective buyers with the opportunity to meet, taste,
compare wines and make deals, while today it has evolved into the “Bozner
Weinkost”. The venue is the sumptuous medieval Maretsch Castle nestling
among vineyards just a few minutes’ walk from the centre of Bolzano.
Some 60 South Tyrolean wine producers will present their latest harvest
releases, along with more mature and “Riserva” wines from earlier vin-
tages.

Oswald von Wolkenstein Riding Competition Alpe di Siusi/Seiser Alm
03th to 05th June 2011
The Oswald von Wolkenstein equestrian event, a picturesque pageant of
medieval horsemanship skills, is taking place on in the Alpe di Siusi/Seiser
Alm holiday region on the high plateau beneath the Sciliar/Schlern moun-
tain. Riders compete in teams of four in events testing medieval riding
skills including negotiating a labyrinth, spearing rings with a banner at full
gallop, negotiating hurdles and slalom-like gates.

Südtirol Jazzfestival Alto Adige
26th June to 3th July 2011
One of the most important music festivals Europe-wide is taking place
over eight days with the finest jazz music performed by internationally
acclaimed musicians in various venues in four of South Tyrol’s major
towns. The most varied concerts comprising a mixture of the traditional
and the modern will take place in the refined atmosphere of South Tyrol’s
castles and manor houses, though also in town streets and squares, fa-
voured by the balmy late spring climate.

"Maratona dles Dolomites" Road Bike Race, Alta Badia
10th July 2011
The Maratona dles Dolomites is taking place on Sunday 6.45am starting at
La Villa/Stern in Alta Badia and finishing at Corvara. 8,500 cyclists from all
over the world (from 35 countries) will compete in the race.

“Dolomiti Superbike” Mountain Bike Race, Alta Pusteria/Hochpustertal
09th July 2011
The event, which is renowned for its arduousness, attracts more competi-
tors than any other event of its kind in Italy and expects to see up to 3,500
participants. Entrants can choose between two distances, 119.9 and 56.9
kilometres.

Gustav Mahler Music Weeks, Dobbiaco/Toblach
